Recap of His Free Gift of Righteousness
Romans 1:16-17
I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere! This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God’s righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe.y And it moves us from receiving life through faith, to the power of living by faith. This is what the Scripture means when it says:
“We are right with God through life-giving faith!”
Add NotesRomans 5:1-2
Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace. with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. Our faith guarantees us access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!
Romans 3:21-24
But now, independently of the law, the righteousness of God is tangible and brought to light through Jesus, the Anointed One. This is the righteousness that the Scriptures prophesied would come.q It is God’s righteousness made visible through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ.r And now all who believe in him receive that gift. For there is really no difference between us, for we all have sinned and are in need of the glory of God. Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His gifts of love and favor now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin!
He did something so spectacular that all it takes is your faith and His righteousness is given to you.
His Love is amazing!!
Col 1:21-22
21-22Even though you were once distant from him, living in the shadows of your evil thoughts and actions, he reconnected you back to himself. He released his supernatural peace to you through the sacrifice of his own body as the sin-payment on your behalf so that you would dwell in his presence. And now there is nothing between you and Father God, for he sees you as holy, flawless, and restored!
The Love he gave is a big deal. I mean about the rejection, the constant wanting to be killed but loving anyway, think about it, the very people who wanted him crucified, the ones who spit on him and beat him were the ones he was going to the cross to save and wipe away their sins.
Love covers a multitude of sins.
