Do you ever find yourself worrying? We all have faced uncertain times before, leaving us with feelings of uneasiness. I’m not the type of person who lays in bed awake at night worrying, but I have noticed when I have a lot on my plate, I give a good amount of my attention to details. Through this, I’ve observed how my attention has shifted away from a powerful God to a helpless ME.
Worry Is Misplaced Faith
You see, any time we worry, it’s a turning of our focus toward self. ? It’s a misplaced faith. It’s a failure to grasp the Gospel of a God worthy of your trust. Worry shows up when your view of God is diminished and your view of yourself or your situation is too big. When our vision of God is skewed, we worry. We rest when our vision is fixed on Him. Perhaps this is why the Bible says, Don’t be anxious about anything (Philippians 4:16).
You can be assured your value in the eyes of God does not shift with the economic tide. Your worth is never measured by what you do for God, but by what God has done for you.
?This is God the Father who sent His only Son to the cross that we deserved.
?This is God the Son who willingly took on flesh, lived among us, and died in our place.
?This is God the Spirit who restored us back to unending fellowship with our Maker.
? It is the costly actions of God that gives us our value.
Friends, remind yourself and each other of your true identity in Christ and His incredible, unfathomable, steadfast love when you face troubling times or difficult situations. The uneasiness of worry surfaces when we fail to embrace the Gospel of God’s grace.
